It turns out that a morning cup of coffee does have some benefits! Research shows that Coffee Recipes may be a preventative measure against Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s disease, Diabetes, and obesity. Dr. Shawn Talbott, a nutritional biochemist, explained the many benefits of coffee to The List. We’ve also included some creative recipes by Mario Gebran to help you apply these principles.

  1. Coffee

    Waffle

This is a truly amazing idea. For a delicious breakfast, you can put coffee in waffle mix. You will enjoy a better waffle and a greater amount of caffeine. Tip: Make sure to use extra-small coffee grounds so your waffle has a smooth taste.

Ingredients:

1 3/4 cups flour

1/4 cup sugar

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 1/2 cups 2% milk

1/3 cup vegetable oil

2 eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 tbsp finely ground coffee

Directions:

In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt. Mix together the milk, vegetable oil and eggs in a large bowl. Add vanilla extract, coffee grounds, and then whisk the mixture into a bowl. Mix milk texture with dry ingredients. Whisk until well combined. Spray the waffle iron with cooking spray. Place 1/2 cup batter on the waffle iron. Close the oven and cook for 2 1/2 minutes, or until golden brown.

  1. Coffee-Rubbed Steak

Coffee-rubbed steak is our next caffeinated creation. It will be amazing how well the richness of the espresso matches the smokeiness of a good steak. This will elevate your grilling experience to the next level.

Ingredients for New York Strip Dry Rub

Equal parts sea salt, pepper, and finely-ground espresso

Rub olive oil on your steak. Then, apply the dry rub generously to all areas of the steak, including the sides. Grill steak for 2 minutes on each side. Reduce heat to medium-low, and cook steak until desired doneness.

  1. Coffee Chocolate Chip Cookies

The pick-me up chocolate chip cookies is our last coffee recipe. This recipe is simple and can be made with any chocolate chip cookie mix. However, we’ve added a twist with the coffee grounds. To give the cookies that smooth taste, ensure they are very finely ground.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup granulated Sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup melted butter

2 eggs

1 1/2 cups flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

12 oz. chocolate chips

1 tbsp finely ground coffee

Directions:

Pre heat oven to 350F. Use an electric mixer to beat the butter, brown sugars, and eggs in a large bowl on medium speed. To make it creamy, you can also use a whisk or a spoon. Mix in flour, coffee grounds and baking soda.

Drop 1/4 cupfuls of dough about 2 inches apart onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until edges are set and golden brown. Let cool for four minutes before transferring the cookie sheet to a wire rack. Let cool completely for about 30 minutes.
